Experimental Aircraft News Magazine - Apollo AG-1 Gyrocopter from Silverlight Aviation Tampa Florida. While at the E.A.A. Sun N Fun Convention held at the Linder Report in Lakeland Florida, Dan Johnson talks to Abid Farooqui of Silverlight Aviation importers of the Apollo AG-1 Gyrocopter.
Abid imports the AG 1 Gyrocopter kits from Europe and then runs a builders assist program for buyers. The program takes a kit from box to flight in as little as two to four weeks.
While the AG1 is relatively new to the gyro market, at the time of this video there were 32 flying, the company has been in the aviation business for decades. In designing and building the AG 1 they took components from their trike manufacturing side and mated them to assemblies for gyroplanes that have been manufactured for years by a French company.
The AG-1 is priced in the $75,000 to $80,000 U.S. dollar range and comes equipped with a Rotax 914 aircraft engine.
