Experimental Aircraft News Magazine - The Tandem Air-bike was introduced in 1996. It is a tandem seating two place, tail dragger in a tractor configuration. The fuselage is welded 4130 chromoly while the wing is all wood. Building times reported in the 250 to 350 hour range. The control system is standard stick and rudder.
Entrance to the front is easy, rear seat a little harder.
The Tandem Air-bike is a rather unique little aeroplane in that it mates a welded steel fuselage to an all wood wing.
Cruise speed is in the 65 m.p.h. range, while climb rates at gross come in around 600 feet per minute.

Stall with flaps comes in just over 30 m.p.h. Take off on land will require about 300 feet. The wings are foldable for trailering and storage. Register as Experimental Amateur-Built, requires Light Sport license to fly.
Designed for 50-60hp engines such as the Rotax 503or Hirth 3202. 4-stroke options also. Build from plans, short kit or complete kit. Complete assembly kit includes everything except engine, instruments and paint. Brakes and Wing tanks included. Fiberglass wingtips and wheelpants are optional.
